Dear Dr. DePaço,
It is with great honor that I accept your generous donation for the purchase of a dual-purpose police canine at a total cost of $18,500. Upon receipt of the funds, we will have K9 Sergeant Snook along with Master Trainer Joseph Barone evaluate several canines for eligibility. The purpose of pre-testing is to determine if the canine will make a suitable candidate for training and police work. Evaluation criteria will include the age, health, temperament, alertness, prey/defense drives and play/retrieving drives. Any of the previously mentioned areas of concern that may adversely affect its serviceability shall be immediate grounds for rejection.
On behalf of our office and the citizens of Somerset County, I would like to express my gratitude for your unwavering dedication, as well as your generous donations and commitment to ongoing public safety in our community.
